Allure January 2013

Drew Barrymore graces the cover of Allure's January issue and I actually really like it? I don't love her (As much as I know my friend R would love that) but I think the cover is pretty great. You know? Of course you do. So far I am quite impressed, for the most part, with January magazine covers and I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get my hopes up for the rest of 2013.
This is actually the ugliest jacket though, but her makeup and her hair looks great.
Okay but her makeup here is awful. Icy blue eyeshadow? Uh no.

Blair Waldorf

Okay. If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or are one of my few Facebook friends, you know that Monday, December 17, 2012 was a tough day for me. Yes, "Gossip Girl" ended after 6 years. 6 super dramatic and somehow equally lovely years. Now, in an attempt not to be that girl, because I am 22 years old after all, I am having some serious withdrawals. I may or may not have cried a few times throughout the episode because 6 years is a long time and also, I mean, Blair Waldorf. You all know of my deep and utter infatuation with everything Leighton Meester/Blair Waldorf. She is the most perfect TV character ever written (Besides Chandler Bing from "Friends," obviously. Yep, I'm a nineties baby. Don't even worry about it.) and I relate to her in more ways than I want to admit. I'm not AS much of an evil genius, nor do I have actual minions or a lot of money and headbands, but her bitchiness translates into an inner confidence and I mean, I relate in that way. So, without being too rambly (And without giving too much away from the season finale, if you do care. Which, you probably don't.) she finally got married to her ultimate soulmate. I am so honored and excited that the last time I'll ever write about Blair Waldorf will be about her wedding dress. It was a stunning light blue Elie Saab dress topped with a gorgeous diamond headband. I mean, it just makes sense for her, you know? Okay, you don't know. But believe you me, it does. This is perfect. I need to stop rambling because the more I ramble, the more emotional I get and the sadder that makes me. So many feelings right now. In the most Blair Waldorf-esque manner, I'd like to request some macaroons to cry over. Pronto.

"The Great Gatsby"

Moment to rant about how a 1920's version of Leonardo DiCaprio was Indian given (I don't know the correct verb for an Indian giver...) from me as a Christmas gift. I am so sad. I was really looking forward to choosing between "Les Mis" or "The Great Gatsby" for a Christmas day movie. But no, they took it away for me and have set the release date back to May. I am so heartbroken. In an attempt to mend my broken heart, they have released two new movie posters. I mean, I'm still sad, but ugh Carey Mulligan is perfect and Leonardo DiCaprio can just break up with his newest girlfriend and date me already, please.
 Marry me.

Vogue January 2013

Vogue has been anything BUT interesting to me as of late, but thankfully they have decided to start 2013 with a seriously great covergirl. Gwen Stefani, that is. She looks absolutely flawless on the cover of their January issue. The shoot is short, at least so far, but her band joins her and I mean, that's so great, right? Right. I'm at sort of a loss for words, but I really just want to hang out with Gwen Stefani. Although, honesty time, I think she'd really intimidate me and I'd end up just staring at her and asking if I could touch her perfect skin. This is why I don't mingle with celebrities, you guys. Not because I can't get to them, it's that when I do I turn into a weirdo. I don't want to talk about it. (Only, you know I do. I love talking about celebrity encounters). Fingers seriously crossed that Anna Wintour and co. keeps this up. I can't handle bad covers anymore.
Seriously, her skin is perfect. Also, I want this blazer like, yesterday. It's my dream.
I'm even okay with the hat. I don't want to talk about that.

Kristen Stewart

It's now clear to me that Kristen Stewart dislikes me as much as I dislike her. Case in point: the Erdem dress (Yes, it's a dress.) she wore to the New York premiere of "On the Road" Thursday night. I have so many problems with this. The first problem is the sheer infatuation her and/or her stylist is currently experiencing. Like, stop it already. Second, the sheer part of the dress is SO short. It was shortened a ridiculous amount from the runway version, which was quite unnecessary if you ask me. Oh my gosh, I just hate this so much. For an editorial, sure! For a premiere, Hell no. This needs to stop now. But I will say, I am in lust with her Christian Louboutins, so there's that.

Vogue Germany January 2013

Today is a happy day. The rest of the pictures from Jessica Chastain's cover shoot with Vogue Germany were released AND she was nominated for a Golden Globe. The pictures are gorgeous, as to be expected and I'm sure her nomination is well deserved. I'll let you know when I actually see "Zero Dark Thirty," but I'm really loving what I've seen in the trailer already. (It's funny because I'm being totally serious). Real talk, she is just one of my favorite human beings ever. More real talk, I wish I could read German because I'm curious as to who this man she's posing with is and too lazy to like, Google things. Such struggles I'm facing, I know. Just ignore me and stare at her beauty and whatnot.
This is my favorite. She's STUNNING.
WHO ARE YOU MYSTERY MAN? I really need to learn German. Partially because of him and partially because these pictures don't fully make sense to me and I don't like being confused during photoshoots. You know? Okay, I Googled it. Omar Sy is a French actor. That still doesn't explain where the bathtub and music instruments (Whatever) come into play.

Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013

If we're being honest, pre-fall collections stress me out. I know it's unnecessary and silly stress, but it's stress nonetheless. I guess I can't complain too much though, especially when you throw Oscar de la Renta into the mix, because things are so pretty for pre-fall. But it's just the idea of it all. It's too much at once. I can't keep up. You know? Anyway, enough of my complaining, let's talk about Oscar de la Renta's Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I'm not super blown away by any of the pieces in general, they are very basic with the same silhouette, etc. He did manage to mix it up with fun prints though and I am kind of obsessed with the tights some of the models wore. I will most definitely have to get my hands (legs) on those. To sum that nonsense up, I guess I'm just so-so about this collection. For now.
This is what the first quarter of the show consisted of. Pale pinks and blues in very boring silhouettes. I'm not in love.

While I adore these tights, I can't focus on anything when they're paired like this.

This I love. Any dress with pockets is a friend of mine. Or whatever.
I hate that I like this. I don't want to talk about it.

Vogue Germany January 2013

Oh, hello. Let's just give Jessica Chastain another warm welcome on the blog early this morning. Yes, it's almost 3 AM, let's just not discuss that. She graces the cover of Vogue Germany's January issue and I am just in love with the cover. She is actually one of my favorite humans uh, ever? Okay, that may or may not be stretching it a bit considering we haven't met (yet) but judging from what I've seen and read, I'm going to stick with what I said earlier about her being my favorite. I mostly love the cover because it reminds me of an old Vogue cover. Back when things were happy and pretty. The fact that this Gucci number is just taking over the cover is kind of wonderful. Ugh I am so happy and so tired. I can't wait to see the rest of these pictures. I can only imagine...

Jessica Chastain

Oh Jessica Chastain, you know I adore you, so you know this is difficult for me. (I like that I'm typing this as though Jessica Chastain is sitting in her hotel room reading this. Wishful thinking, no?) I don't know if I quite like the Elie Saab dress she wore to the Hollywood premiere of "Zero Dark Thirty." A movie which I am SO excited to see, as probably previously mentioned. I want to like this so badly, I really do, but the nude lining at the top is just throwing me off. She does look amazing though, I will give her that. I mean, it's rare that she looks anything but amazing, if we're just having some real talk right now.

Marie Claire January 2013

Say what you will about Marie Claire and Lea Michele, but I think Marie Claire's January issue (Featuring Lea Michele, in case you hadn't caught on by now.) is just further proof that they show no signs of slowing down in 2013. They ended 2012 with a bang, featuring my dear Jessica Chastain on their December issue, and I think this is just a start of the great things to come. I have been overjoyed by a majority of their cover girls and I'm really excited to see who else they feature. Ah so much positivity in that paragraph. Like, who am I?
I honestly love everything EXCEPT the outfit. Like what is this ugly hot mess of an outfit? Also, I hate me some cover girl sideboob. I guess I just hate sideboob in general. You know?
This is my favorite picture. She not only looks stunning, but I'm dying over this Stella McCartney blazer (Add white blazer to my list of this season's "must-haves.") and this gorgeous Eres bodysuit. I want.
What even is her eyeshadow? I'm obsessed.
