Fashion Quote of the Day

"You know, in life there's perfume and there's cologne. Cologne, you have to spray every fifteen minutes. Perfume, you put a drop and it lasts a week. You're perfume."
Mario Testino [to Kate Moss]

Vogue September 2011

I KNOW. WHY it took me THIS long to blog about Kate Moss gracing the cover of Vogue's September issue, yes THE September issue, is baffling to me as well. The pictures have been sitting on my computer desktop far too long and for that, I sincerely apologize because in my mind, you (Sweet little you) woke up everyday going "Oh, I wonder when Erin will blog about Vogue..." but then again, you have better things to do. I, on the other hand, like to compare my life to TV and/or movies, so yeah. Anyway, Kate Moss' spread in Vogue is kind of a behind-the-scenes look into her wedding to Jamie Hince. The FANTASTIC (Stop judging me about my Caps Lock use today, I don't want to talk about it) Mario Testino photographed her wedding and I am kind of obsessed. I am obsessed with the photos, I am continuously obsessed with Mario Testino and I am REALLY REALLY FREAKING excited that a MODEL is on the cover of Vogue. I had been curious about that a few days before the cover girl was announced, so I'd like to think they heard me over at the Vogue offices. Oh, AND this makes me kind of like Kate Moss. It's a new day, my dears.
While I'm not IN love with the cover photo, I do love the colors.
Her veil was SO pretty.
Kate Moss' daughter, Lila Grace, helping her with her train. I think this is my favorite picture from the entire shoot. It's adorable and quite heartwarming.
Goodness, the wedding looked so incredibly beautiful...

"Our Idiot Brother" LA Premiere

While I wish to see "Our Idiot Brother," I kind of wish I could un-see some of the outfits from the premiere last night. Shall we feast our eyes on some of the disasters?
I know. At first you're like "Oh, Elizabeth Banks! You are so petty all the time. I miss you on "30 Rock," I hope you will be un-kidnapped soon... (Spoiler alert, sorry)" and then you're like "Wait, is she wearing a nude bra?" and then you focus on that for a minute too long still unsure as to whether or not you're right and THEN you go "Wait, what are her shoes? What is her dress? It's kind of ugly, but I don't want to hate it too much." So, naturally, after all that talking to yourself, you're a little uneasy. That is, until...
...You see the back. What the what? Yes, the back of this Prada dress just made it hella ugly. So ugly that I said "hella" to emphasize the hideousness that is the dress. Like, I am legitimately confused. WHY Miuccia Prada thought this dress was a good idea is beyond me, my friends.
You know, I've attempted to get on board with the whole "WE LOVE ZOOEY DESCHANEL" thing, but I can't do it. Yes, I thought "500 Days of Summer" was cute and quirky, quite like herself, but like, okay. She's there. She portrayed Summer well. (The character, not the season, don't lose me now). But her quirkiness kind of, for lack of a better word, irks me. I don't know why, but ugh. So, to add to the whole "I kind of don't understand her..." thing she showed up in this Moschino dress. Granted, I liked the dress on the runway, but she's wearing it oddly. The ruffle in the front, should be on the side and well, this dress should be on someone completely different. Am I right?... Well, you know that I am. Apparently I'm cocky too, but there's another place and time for that.
I love me some color blocking, but I do not love this. If the top of Rashida Jones' whatever this is had been that red (A la Emma Stone's Giambattista Valli outfit she wore for the New York premiere of "Friends With Benefits") or something, I would be like "Oh, okay then." But this is, dare I say it again, hella ugly, people. Okay, sidenote: I found out that this is a Stella McCartney DRESS. That makes it 10x worse for too many reasons to list. Ugh.

InStyle September 2011

Beyonce looks extra fierce on the cover of InStyle's September issue. What is adding to her crazy fierceness is her Dolce & Gabbana dress. I want it. I need it. I have to have it. Please?

@CondeElevator

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Conde Nast's BRILLIANT Twitter account @CondeElevator shut down earlier this week. Well, it's still there, but it has been retired. I guess the people at Conde Nast weren't as pleased as I was with the Twitter account. R.I.P. one of the funniest Twitter accounts I have ever come across. Funnier than mine and Lord Voldemort's put together. (Just kidding about mine, although I did just make a joke about Madonna's Gollum arms. I am a terrible person). Anyway, here's one last Tweet from mystery Conde Nast employee and/or intern. (Don't underestimate the fashion interns, we're awesome).

Jayma Mays

Oh, I would also like to talk about how pretty Jayma Mays looked the other night at InStyle's Summer Soiree. Her Zuhair Murad dress not only fits her perfectly, but it's so delicate and pretty. I even think I like her shoes. Maybe. All I can really focus on his the cute little dress. I love it.

Anne Hathaway

I am kind of loving the Carven dress Anne Hathaway wore earlier this week to the after party of the New York premiere of "One Day." She looks adorable. I don't think, and by don't think I mean I definitely don't, like her sandals though. But the dress, the dress is so unbelievably wonderful. And plus she just looks really happy to be there, which I think makes her look even better. A smile is the best accessory, or something. Right? I feel like that's already a quote...

Sebastian Stan
I really, truly, absolutely forgot just how much I adore him until I saw "Captain America" tonight. Santa, I would like him for Christmas, please.
