85th Academy Awards

THE MOST BLESSED AND SACRED DAY HAS FINALLY COME AND GONE. The 85th Academy Awards, aka. My favorite day of the year (As previously discussed a million times on the blog/in life.), are over already and boy, oh boy, did we have some great dresses grace the red carpet. Shall we begin?
Amy Adams won my heart for Best Dressed of the Night. She looked more like a princess than ever in this stunning Oscar de la Renta gown. I love me some Oscar de la Renta, this is a fact, so this entire situation has my heart.
Jennifer Lawrence was my second favorite for Best Dressed of the Night. This Dior gown was FANTASTIC. I mean, it was everything I love. It was huge and so wonderful. I mean, yes, my future BFF did trip walking up the stairs to accept her Oscar statue for Best Actress, but if anyone was going to trip and embarrass themselves on national television, it would be her. This is how I know we are soulmates.
Jessica Chastain finally wore something flattering and pretty! This Armani Prive gown was just really quite gorgeous. And don't get me started on her hair and makeup, because that was flawless all around.
Samantha Barks was seriously overlooked by all the awards shows, I think. She seriously stole the show in "Les Miserables." She was all I could stare at. Her face, her tiny little waist, etc. She's great. This dress is also so great.
Someone decided to invite Kristen Stewart to present. Now, my best friend and I watched the awards show in an hour (Instead of 5) so we missed a whole bunch of the nonsense from Seth MacFarlane, KStew, etc. so I'm not sure how she did, but either way I don't love it. I do, however, love her Reem Acra gown. It's stunning. I feel bad for her though because she did have to use crutches on the red carpet. So sad.
I am still quite obsessed with Kerry Washington's fashion choices as of late and I really quite like this Miu Miu gown. It's so pretty and I heart gown trains.
So, I like the top of Zoe Saldana's Alexis Mabille Couture gown, but I kind of really dislike the bottom. The ombre gray situation happening is not my favorite. But the top, the top is so pretty!
Jennifer Hudson's body looks bangin', but she looks like an Avatar in this Roberto Cavalli gown.
So, I adore Reese Witherspoon, but I don't love this Louis Vuitton gown. She is way too tiny and there is just way too much fabric for such a tiny body. You know? Of course.
Anne Hathaway is really annoying me as of late. But that's besides the point. Her Prada gown was not great. The darts, aka. Dress nipples, were so distracting, it's all I was paying attention to. But, on a more positive and optimistic note, her hair is growing back nicely, her jewelry was gorgeous and her Ryan Gosling look alike husband is still really attractive. So, you know, there's that.
I am very disappointed in Jennifer Aniston and her hair. She generally has impeccable hair, but oh no, not last night. It was all over the place and I'm not having it one bit. Her gown was alright, it was kind of wrinkled and I think she should've worn at least one or two pieces of jewelry to spruce it up. It seems like a general missed opportunity.
Naomi Watts looked like a gorgeous alien in this Armani Prive gown. I didn't like it at first, but now it's weirdly growing on me and I'm totally okay with it actually.
Charlize Theron looked like a grown up Miley Cyrus on the red carpet. I think I like her Christian Dior Haute Couture gown. I mean, I think I do? I'm not super excited about it.
I DON'T KNOW WHY NICOLE KIDMAN WAS THERE. Ha ha I mean, I never know why Nicole Kidman is there, you guys. I don't. Only I do this time because she was a presenter. Now, her L'Wren Scott dress. It's interesting. I don't like the belt, mostly. It's just too much, I don't know what to focus on. I'm hoping it just doesn't photograph well? But I'll give it to her because she actually looks so great. I'm proud of her.
Halle Berry wore some type of Beetlejuice looking Versace gown. Nope. Nope. Nopers.
Jellyfish Garner. I mean, Jennifer Garner. She looked gorgeous in this jellyfish-esque Gucci gown. I mean, it's similar to something she's worn before, but I still love it. Also, her hair and makeup is flawless. And watching her tear up in her seat while her hubby, Ben Affleck, accepted the Oscar for Best Picture "Argo" (Which, by the way, was such a freaking good movie) was tugging on my heart strings. I adore it.
Adele wore a black dress, so like, alert the presses, you guys!

HAPPY OSCARS DAY TO ALL!
Also, can we talk about the fact that Joan Crawford slept with the Oscar she won back in 1946? I mean, if we're being honest, I know I'd do the same.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain attended the Women in Film's 6th Annual Pre-Oscar Party on Thursday and I'm not super excited about what she's wearing. While it's definitely not the worst, it's also definitely not the best. I'm mostly on the fence about this Preen dress because it's making me nervous for Sunday. Please don't let me down, Chastain. Please don't let me down. But, sort of related, I do like the random green designs on the side of the dress. I'm trying to be a little positive here.

2013 Independent Spirit Awards

With the Oscars, aka. My favorite day of the year (With the exception of my birthday and Christmas, of course) tomorrow, all the stars are in Hollywood and ready to dazzle us. Tonight, the Independent Spirit Awards took place and I am quite pleased with what went down. Well, for the most part. I'm looking at you, Laura Dern. Oh, I'm looking at you.
This is actually so wonderful, I adore it. Jennifer Lawrence looks plain hot (Yeah, I don't know?) in this Lanvin outfit. I adore it. And her makeup is flawless too, she's no longer super tan, which I appreciate. Her loose top knot is also great. So many good things to say about this. I can't wait for her to win her Oscar tomorrow. I mean, what? ;) (Yes, that winky face was completely necessary and no, I'm not sorry 'bout it.)
I am still really obsessed with everything Kerry Washington has been wearing. Her style is impeccable and chic and I love it. I mean, it looks like Spring literally threw up on her and I could not be more obsessed with it. This Giambattista Valli look is perfection.
This is what Emily Osment from "Hannah Montana" looks like now, you guys. I'm not entirely sure what she's wearing, but I am 100% sure that I hate every single piece of it. It looks like a Barbie wedding dress. And not a good one. Speaking of which, I had the BEST wedding dress for my Barbie. It was totes haute couture and my Mother recently threw it out. I mean, I know I wouldn't ever use it, but for like, framing and nostalgia reasons I wish I had it still. (I hope she reads this. I will never forgive.)
I admit that I didn't know who Laura Dern was initially, but I was so thrown off by this disgusting (Yes, disgusting) outfit that I was too distracted to even Google her. This is HEINOUS. Now that the initial panic and shock of this heinousness has worn off, I Googled her and found she is 46, which makes her about 30 years too old to be showing her teal bra through her shirt. Also, what is that cuff? Why are there so many colors in this outfit? What is her hair?  What is life?!?!?!?!?!?!

Jennifer Lawrence for Miss Dior Spring 2013

I'm obviously stupid obsessed with everything Jennifer Lawrence does/says/thinks/looks at, etc. so with all of that obsession, you can only imagine how much I love her new Miss Dior Spring 2013 campaign. It exceeded all of my expectations and that's saying a lot. She looks flawless and I'm kind of dying over her hair. It should stay this way forever. Or not. Because she also really rocks blonde. You know, do whatever your little heart desires, Miss Lawrence and I'll love you either way. You know, in a BFF way, not a restraining order way. Just clearing that up again.
 This is my favorite.
Flawless. Free of flaws, my friends.

Jessica Chastain

YOU GUYS. Jessica Chastain is getting ready for Sunday and this time in a good way. She attended The Wrap's Pre-Oscars Party in this Andrew Gn dress. I mean, I don't think I should love it, but I do. I really do, you guys. She needs to remember that colors, such as this bright royal blue, look so great with her hair and complexion. And the fact that this dress kind of has a cape on it is just perfect. Oh, I have so much love for Miss Jessica Chastain.

Emma Stone

I mean, Emma Stone is just so great, you guys. I adore her. And I actually adored this Stella McCartney dress she wore to the Berlin International Film Festival of "The Croods" until someone mentioned on Facebook that she looked like an egg... Thanks a lot.

ELLE March 2013

Yep, lots of Taylor Swift happening on the blog today. Haters gonna hate. And she has a lot of haters, believe you me. So, with that being said, she graces the cover of ELLE's March issue and I actually really like what's going on. Well, for the most part. I mean, am I ever fully happy with an editorial?
Her bangs look weird.
I am never a fan of subscriber issues. Like, ever. I miss the days when we got the real covers.
I love absolutely EVERYTHING about what's happening here. This Oscar de la Renta outfit is so perfect I'm dying. Also, yes to her top knot. And yes to the spring-y-ness. This circle in the back reminds me of Emma Stone's ELLE shoot though. Quite familiar, you know?
No? This is the biggest no of the shoot. No to everything.
Rachel Zoe, is that you?
