Fashion Quote of the Day

"'I dreamed I was buying new shoes last night,' said Ron. 'What d'ya think that's gonna mean?' 'Probably that you're going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something,' said Harry."

Hilary Duff

UM, we have a problem. Late last week Hilary Duff made an appearance for some book launch (Whatever, I don't care) and at first glance, I thought "Oh, okay! This is a maxi dress. Okay, cool. Whatever. I like Lizzie McGuire." But apparently my eyes deceived me. No no, this is a jumpsuit illusion without being a jumpsuit. I don't like her Heartloom top, nor her Alice + Olivia pants, especially her A + O pants. I do, however, like her belt and her bangs. I don't even...

Fashion Quote of the Day

"I love classic beauty. It's an idea of beauty with no standard."

Coco Rocha

Coco Rocha has a spread in ELLE Quebec's May issue in which she is featured wearing some of Jean Paul Gaultier's past designs. And as always, she brings a lot of life to the clothes she's modeling, which is just one of the reasons I love her as a model. My favorites are the bedazzled dress from 2009 (It's very Alexander McQueen, no?) and the striped piece from 2003.
I love her hair, her makeup and this dress. It's all sorts of wonderful.
I ADORE this. It has an almost vintage feel to it, which I love. And red lips? Perfection. I am going to perfect red lipstick over the summer. That's my goal. I have my eye on some YSL lipstick, so you know I'll tell you how that goes.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry attended the UK premiere of her hubby's new movie, "Arthur," today and I am having mixed feelings about her Philip Armstrong dress. I don't like the one sleeve at ALL, but I think I like the rest of the dress. A sweetheart neckline would've been my first choice. Whatever, I still love her. I am obsessed with her hair too. Look how pretty it is. How is it that she doesn't have a contract with Pantene yet?...
You can see her dress better here. It's kind of growing on me, but I'm not completely there yet.

"Clothes can suggest, persuade, connote, insinuate, or indeed lie, and apply subtle pressure while their wearer is speaking frankly and straightforwardly of other matters."

French Fashion Designers

I have a confession, anytime I am shopping for books or supplies for school, I always end up rewarding myself with a fun gift. (Although, if we're being honest, new school supplies are a gift on their own...) Last week, I rewarded myself with "French Fashion Designers Paper Dolls: 1900-1950" by Tom Tierney. I know what you're thinking. Paper dolls? Really? Are you five years old? So to answer that, yes paper dolls. Yes really. No I'm not five years old. But I am obsessed with fashion from the early 1900s. Although I am not a fashion design student, I am going to use this book as reference and I'll use the paper dolls as decoration. Clever, no? But really, you should check this book out. It's kind of amazing.
(Will someone please make me the dress on the left? It's so pretty!!)
