Fashion Quote of the Day

"Why not wear mismatching shoes? Who says we can't? I was just having fun. For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That's what I love. I genuinely love dressing up."
Helena Bonham Carter, Referring to her shoes at the Golden Globes

Valentino Spring 2011 Couture

You know, I have to admit that I had seriously high hopes for Valentino's Spring 2011 Couture Collection and I am kind of disappointed. I mean, of course the dresses are elegant and flowy, very Valentino, but there is nothing that stands out to me. I guess after seeing Elie Saab's Collection, nothing is going to compare, but still. I seriously adore the color palette though, that's for sure.
Minus the weird collar, this dress is actually quite lovely.
I actually really like this dress. I can see it being in a cover shoot for ELLE or Vogue, perhaps.
I don't like this dress, I just thought it was funny. It reminds me of, once again, a jellyfish. I don't know what that's about, honestly.

Benefit 10 Powder Duo

Yes, it is time for another beauty product recommendation. This time, I would like to introduce you to my longtime friend, Benefit 10 Powder Duo. A duo of pink and bronze powders. It goes on wonderfully and isn't too bronze or too pink, it's just right. (Goldilocks would be very pleased). And I don't know if it's just me or if it's true, but I think it smells delightful. I really cannot even begin to tell you how much I adore this product. If you're thinking "$28 is kind of a lot," it's worth every penny, I promise. And plus, $28 really isn't that bad considering the fact that it lasts a heck of a long time. It's available at Sephora, Nordstrom and Macy's.

Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture

I apologize in advance for this overly dramatic post, but I LOVE EVERYTHING about Elie Saab's Spring 2011 Couture collection. Good heavens. It is absolutely STUNNING. I have the sick urge to type this all in Caps Lock, but I won't. Seriously though, these gowns are breathtaking. I am going to have dreams about these dresses. I want to get married in half of these dresses. Hell, I actually want to get married TO some of these dresses. I just, I can't handle the gorgeousness that is Elie Saab right now. For serious, I am on break (Yes, I am blogging in class, sue me.) and all during break I thought about these dresses. I'M IN LOVE.
Honestly, this collection may or may not be in the process of giving me a heart attack. How pretty is this dress right now?!
I don't really like this color, but this dress is gorgeous.
I really love this dress. The back is interesting as well, you can see it on the picture below.
Love, love, love, love, love.
I can see Carey Mulligan in this dress. Yeah?
I hate this jacket, but look at the dress that's underneath. So pretty!
This has Blake Lively's name written ALL over it. Am I right? Please, of course I am.
Can I get married in this, please? Sans veil, of course.

Chanel Spring 2011 Couture

This is fashionably late, as is pretty much everything I do. I apologize, but it's worth it. The Chanel Spring 2011 Couture line is delicate and light and just plain lovely. The collection includes 66 pieces and I like more than half of them. I don't necessarily like the separates but I love the sparkly pants and the almost heavenly dresses. Style.com described the collection as "...Positively luminous in its delicacy and sparkle" adding that ten million beads were used resulting literally in "a cloth of light." The words light and delicate come to mind when looking at this collection. Karl Lagerfeld still manages to make Coco Chanel proud. I mean, I would be proud if I were Coco Chanel. Oh, just imagine how great that must've been...
I can see Blake Lively in this. Yes?
I love everything about this look. From the shoes to the pants to the dress. Lovely.
Sparkly pants! I want them, please. Blake Lively wore sparkly pants recently and I am sure she will have her hands (or legs) on them in no time. I mean, she is Chanel's new face, after all.
I think this is my favorite look.
Look at this skirt! It's so lovely, it reminds me of jellyfish. Fun fact: I actually really like jellyfish, hence my adoration towards this skirt. And I mean, this is my color.
Karl and his models. Jealous. Jealous that I am NOT a model and I am NOT on Karl's arm.
