V Magazine Spring 2015

Let me start this off by saying that I love Selena Gomez like, well, like a love song, you might say. (I'm not sorry for that because A. That's a horribly great song. B. That was funny. To me, at least.) But her new V Magazine cover makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Maybe it's her charming and adorable baby face and the fact that it, and the body connected to it, want nothing more than to be seen as an adult. Or maybe it's because I feel like she's my friend or sister and I feel like I accidentally walked in on her at a bad time. Or maybe it's just all those things. She's adorable and I love her, but I'm so sick of topless shots just because. Save that for the one that loves you like a love song back, Selena. This time, that person's not me.

2015 Independent Spirit Awards

The Independent Spirit Awards were today, or as I like to call them "The Pre-Oscar Awards," and I have lots of thoughts about lots of clothes. The awards season is almost over, which gives me the biggest relief, you don't even know. Once this is all over, I think I'm going to pamper myself with a long massage. Seriously, I'm counting down the hours. But for now, I'm smiling and distracting myself with pretty (and not so pretty) gowns. Woo. Hoo.
The fact that, last time I checked, Emmy Rossum (I can't tell you how many times that autocorrected to "Possum." Poor Emmy, life must be rough whilst filing out online forms, etc.) still doesn't use a stylist is beyond me. She knocks it out of the park 99.8% of the time. Nobody's perfect, not even Emmy. But this, this is darling. I want to wear it in a garden while drinking tea and having flowers put in my crown braid... I just painted a very relaxing picture. I want to go to there.
I heart you Cate, I do not heart this. It just falls flat - physically and fashionably. You know what I mean.
UGH. I love Miles Teller so much it hurts. I even love him in this seemingly burgundy suit. Mm.
I want to be Julianne Moore when I grow up. Only, with different shoes. These are weighing down the outfit and remind me of those heinous black platform sandals everyone (Except me, because I had a good fashionable head on my shoulders. Obviously.) got in middle school. Anyone?!
There's a whole lotta fabric going on here, Olivia Munn...
I have a special place in my heart for Kerry Washington (Since I last blogged, I am now Mother to a kitten named Olivia Pope, after Kerry's "Scandal" character. So there's that...) but I don't know if I love the outfit entirely. It seems too dark and Addams Family-esque for such an occasion.
MOMMMMMMMMM. I'm indifferent about Kristen Wiig's hair and dress, but these Bionda Castana shoes are LIFE. Seriously. I need them on my feet yesterday.
Emma Stone, Queen of Everything. I like this dress and the fact that it managed to make her look even skinnier. She found the secret to flattering waistlines, people. Is there anything she can't do?! (Oh yeah, make me like "Birdman." I wish I did, but I really, really, really didn't.)
This hurts me on a personal level. I love Kristen Bell as if she were my own best friend (In my dreams...) but this is not something I can get behind. I'm sorry. Even the dress seems confused as to what's going on. Such a travesty. (Not really, I just like that word.)

Maxim March 2015

This may or may not be the first time I've ever blogged about Maxim, but times have changed and so has Maxim itself. As of September 2014, they have a new editor-in-chief, Kate Lanphear. Formerly of ELLE and T Magazine. While still keeping the same sex appeal Maxim has always had, she's also given it a nice little makeover. Yes, it's subtly been changing since she signed on a few months ago, but I am most proud, that seems like the wrong word, intrigued? by the latest issue. Candice Swanepoel graces their March 2015 issue and it's mesmerizing. Lanphear said of the cover "...But, I think it speaks to our ideas about desire and sexuality, not shying away from that. You don't see almost anything but Candice's gorgeous face and how hypnotic her eyes are. I think that speaks to how surprising and challenging sexiness is." (Refinery29) I could not have said it better myself. That encompasses it in a nutshell. Granted, the rest of the shoot is full of barely there bikinis, nude beach lounging and a few wet white t-shirt shots, but I do appreciate the cover. Plus, it wouldn't be Maxim without a few shots of a gorgeous model and her perfect body. Sigh.

Rachel Antonoff Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear

Science was one of my least favorite subjects in school (Right behind Math of course. Because, last time I checked, long division and word problems are SO unhelpful in the real world. Can I get an amen?!) but Rachel Antonoff may have just changed my mind. If only for a split second. Mix science and fashion and it's oddly a perfect pairing. I know. So unexpected, but just so right. She created a science fair for her Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear presentation and I just absolutely love it. Never did I see myself craving a sweater with my female reproductive organs or full floral jumpsuits, but here we are. Ha ha. Now ignore me as I eagerly await her next collection.
I need that crystal poster to the right. My goodness.
Also, I need this coat. Ignore the fact that it's currently 80+ degrees in Los Angeles, I need all the coats!!!

Vogue March 2015

I haven't been this excited about Vogue in, gosh, I can't even remember how long. But things have changed. This Taylor Swift/Karlie Kloss Vogue cover was rumored for months and has finally become a beautiful reality. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I love Taylor Swift like she was my own sister/best friend/fellow cat lady for life. Or maybe it has to do with the fact that she got a Vogue photoshoot with her best friend. Or maybe it's because Taylor Swift is living my dream and I'm just on the sidelines waiting for her to tap me in. Or maybe it's because my road trips never turn out this picture-esque. (Although, eating Munchies and singing Celiné Dion at the top of your lungs does sound like a perfect Vogue feature.) Or maybe it's all of those things. But either way. I'm kind of obsessed with March's issue. How can you not be?!
This is my dream day. Dancing and baking cookies? YES PLEASE. Sign me up.
Taylor's Michael Kors skirt haunts my dreams. I need it in my life/on my body.
This is my favorite shot. LOOK AT THE MOVEMENT OF KARLIE'S FRINGE. Ugh. My heart.

Hello, again...

(via Pinterest)
Hello, again! After a year and a half break, I've decided to come back. So here I am. I'm just a girl, sitting in front of a blog, asking you to read her work again. Okay, so I'm not Julia Roberts (unfortunately) and I seriously doubt you're Hugh Grant (I WISH. Although, if it is you...Hugh, hello. Nice to meet you. Feel free to e-mail/call me. I have oh, so many questions...) but I am asking you to come back to me. Yes, I'm rusty, but that's really what pushed me to come back. Well, that and my Boyfriend asked why I don't write anymore when I love it so much. I have lots of ideas and even more sass. So, bear with me as I start up again. I've missed you, old friends.
