Elton John’s AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party

I hope that one day I will be invited to Elton John's Annual AIDS Foundation's Oscar Viewing Party. I mean, it kind of sounds amazing. A bunch of stars arrived and we had some hot messes and some hot dresses. (I think I'm funny, sue me). A lot of the stars actually did some party hopping because they were at the Vanity Fair after party later. So sneaky.
Dianna Agron is back!! That breakup did her some good, apparently because although I don't like the length of her dress, I love everything else about it. I'm telling you, unless it's a cocktail dress, I don't want to see your shoes, ladies! But seriously, she redeemed herself and I am proud.
I LOVE everything about Ashley Tisdale's look. From head to toe, she looks amazing. Vanessa Hudgens, on the other hand kind of looks like a mess. See? Hot dress, hot mess. They're friends! Granted, I love Vanessa Hudgens' Marchesa dress, but the rest of her look is not good. I also think it's kind of funny that Baby V got a HUGE (and tacky) butterfly tattoo on her neck and has been making her hair bigger and fluffier, a la Hermione Granger Year 1-4, ever since. Maybe she regrets it already? Or maybe it's just scabby?... Either way, gross. And her shoes are ugly too. She can't catch a break, can she?
I'm sure she'd hate me if she ever read this, but Tori Spelling looks like her Mother. And that's not so good. None of this is good.
Kim Kardashian looks beautiful, but I feel like I've seen this dress before. I feel like I've seen it on HER before. Is that just me?... Due to the fact that she has such big earrings and her dress is so beautiful, I think she should've worn her hair in a bun or a ponytail instead.
Kelly Osbourne's hair is GIGANTIC. And her dress is way too long. I wonder what the E! Fashion Police will say, considering she's now a regular on the show and also considering the fact that this is not her best look. That's why they need me because I wouldn't dress ugly and I would have sassy things to say about the people who do dress ugly. *Cough* Jennifer Hudson's orange mess *Cough* That dress is haunting me, I swear.
Jenna Ushkowitz (Sidenote: Considering the fact that she has an unusual name, the fact that I spelled it right the first time is brag worthy.) Anyway, I don't love her dress. It's just there, you know. There's nothing special about it, so I'm going to vote no on this one.
Heidi Klum! What are you doing with your life?! You need to think about your life and dare I say it, you need to reflect on your decisions. Pun most definitely intended. I really don't like her Julien Macdonald mirrored dress. I feel like maybe Blake Lively could've pulled it off, what with the huge slit and such, but I don't love it on Heidi. Her hair is not good either. But her Louboutin's are amazing, I will give her that one. But seriously.
Oh, Hayden Panettiere. I know this Luca Luca dress isn't entirely your fault, but eh. I'll admit that it does look better on her than it did on the model, but still. The top is kind of unflattering. I don't know what to do with her, she's never impressed me much.
Florence Welch made an outfit change and as much as I hate to admit it, it's a lot better than the Valentino dress she wore earlier. It's still not great, but it's better.
I really don't like Emma Roberts' Jenny Packham dress which is a shame because I actually really like Jenny Packham. I don't like the sleeves, they're kind of ugly and the middle of the dress slightly resembles a spiderweb, no?
Mr. and Mrs. Madden also made an appearance and I hate everything about both of their outfits. Okay, that is dramatic. Joel's outfit is fine, but Nicole Richie is a hot mess. I mean, from her hair to her makeup to her "dress." I'm really not a fan.

L'Officiel Mada March 2011

Leighton Meester graces the cover of L'Officiel Mada's March issue. Yeah, I'd never heard of the magazine either, it's from Lithuania and so far I'm impressed. It looks like a mid-90s magazine cover and I'm surprisingly okay with that. And plus, it's Leighton, so I'm really okay with it. I love her, you guys.

Anne Hathaway

I am giving host, Anne Hathaway, her own post due to the hundreds, okay like 6, dresses and 1 tux she wore throughout the show. I loved almost all of them and I think she actually did a great job hosting. Granted, she probably won't be asked to come back, but she stole the show from James Franco. My Mom asked me how the hosts did and I answered "Anne Hathaway was fine, James Franco..." All he did was stand there, occasionally smile and throw his hands up. Speaking of throwing hands up, I think that Anne Hathaway's constant and overly dramatic arms are her way of attempting to make herself less nervous. I'm legitimately surprised that she didn't knock anyone out. Go back and look at her talking, she had crazy arms. People are saying the hosts were AWFUL, but I think that's a little dramatic. They weren't awful, they weren't great, but they weren't awful. Personally, I think Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law should host next year because a) They are quite entertaining b) They are really good looking and c) They have great chemistry. When I get asked to be a part of the Academy (Yeah, you have to be asked. Believe me, I Wikipediaed it), I'll suggest that.
I really liked this Atelier Versace dress. The color looked amazing on her and I loved her hair.
I HATED this Armani Prive dress. She looked like a fruit roll up. A big blue fruit roll up. It was awful.
Not only did she look great in this Lanvin suit, but those heels. THOSE HEELS. Those. Heels. Those heels. I couldn't stop watching them. They are so pretty. I want to get married in those, please.
This Vivienne Westwood gown was really, really, really ugly. I didn't like anything about it. And her hair! It was awful. It was fake and I am sure that it was really heavy. It looked like she was going to Prom and I made fun of those girls at Prom. Ugs.
SO PRETTY!
Flailing arms! Flailing arms! No wonder they said James Franco was awful, it's because he was terrified of Miss Flailing Arms. This was my favorite dress. This Givenchy gown looked amazing on her. I loved the detail, hence the detailing on the top. I really love it and I said it about four times throughout the show.
Other than Colin Firth's acceptance speech (Adorbs), this was my favorite moment. I looked up and saw Anne Hathaway shimmying in this Oscar de la Renta dress. Not only was she shimmying, but once she stopped and realized that she was once again flailing her arms, she went "Sorry, personal moment." I would TOTALLY do that too. Only, I wouldn't do it on stage next to James freakin' Franco.
Yeah, I didn't like this Tom Ford dress. It was weird.

2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Apparently Vanity Fair's Oscar Party was THE party to be at. Everyone, and I mean everyone (ish) was there. The addresses for the after parties were released last Thursday on Twitter and I almost fell off the elliptical when I read them. Unfortunately I had to work until 6:30 and was unable to drive up to LA to attempt to crash the parties. Really unfortunate, but Vanity Fair's party was the one I wanted to go to. Sigh. AGARF! No joke, it took me TWO AND A HALF HOURS to finally find my British boyfriend. I kept going "Where is Andrew Garfield? Where is my British boyfriend? Why isn't he with the cast? Why isn't he there!?" I also kept asking where Leonardo DiCaprio was, but that's a sore subject. So, after two and a half hours, I FINALLY found him sitting in a random spot behind some random person. Like, what the fudge? Why wasn't he with the cast of "The Social Network?" I really don't understand why they did that. When I'm a member of the Academy I will get RDJ and Jude Law to be hosts and then I'll put AGarf in my life. I mean, in the front row. Here's the thing, I LOVE EMMA STONE'S CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE DRESS. Oh sweet heavens, I adore everything about it. I do not, however, like her new choppy hair. It's yuck. Maybe if she put her bangs to the side I would be lusting over that as well, but it's kind of just... There. Not so much. But that dress... it's bananas.
I have been trying to give Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber a couple name all morning. Evidently I'm not good at celebrity couple names because the only ones I came up with were Justena or Biebez. That's just, not good. Despite the fact that I find their newfound love a little creepy, I also find it really adorable. I think they're really cute together despite the fact that if they do anything, Selena Gomez could go to jail. I do, however, love that they both wore Dolce & Gabbana. Adorbs.
I know that I should be shaking my head at Taylor Swift for wearing a, surprise surprise, sparkly dress, but I kind of love this Zuhair Murad cocktail dress. I like that it's not silver or blue or purple, I love the fact that it is gold AND silver, and I love that it's short. To be honest, I just love everything about it.
Has Sofia Vergara EVER looked ugly? I'm pretty sure she hasn't. She is so gorgeous, it's disgusting. I don't like her dress though, I'm not sure if it's sheer or if the black area that looks like underwear is just a part of the design. I don't like it, but she looks great.
Meh! I'm so mad that I don't love Lea Michele's dress! I love that it has long sleeves, I love the color and the sequins, but I don't like the neckline. And I also kind of don't like her hair. Oh, sad day. Sad day indeed.
I like the colors of Jessica Biel's dress, but I don't like the dress itself. If it didn't have that flap at the top, I would be drooling over the dress.
Gwyneth Paltrow headed to VF's after party in the same Michael Kors dress that she performed in. I still kind of like it, but I'm not completely sold on the whole one shoulder thing right now.
What a hot mess, Eva Mendes. Oh sweet goodness. Elizabeth Banks has become a favorite of mine in the past few months. I think that has something to do with her fierce character on "30 Rock." Ugh, I love her. Brooklyn Decker looks gorgeous, there's no doubt about that but this dress is a little much. I really love her shoes, but I'm not sure they were appropriate for this a) event and b) dress.
I really love the bottom of Anna Paquin's Monique Lhuillier dress, but the top is really unflattering, no? And the interesting thing is that I actually don't hate her black shoes. I do hate her hair though. I mean, honestly.

83rd Academy Awards

I actually don't know if you know just how excited I was for this day. I talked about the Oscars nonstop today. I LOVE the Academy Awards. I really, truly, honestly love them. I've loved them ever since I can remember. I love seeing beautiful people looking even MORE beautiful. I love the red carpet. I love the gowns. I love the award ceremony. I love the gold statue. I love sitting down with my Mom (Or in this year's case, my friend Sarah) and watching the ceremony. Oh, and just in case you were wondering, I am going to use the "I used to watch it with my Mom and imagine myself on the red carpet" part when I'm being interviewed on the Oscar red carpet (Which is 500 ft, fyi) next year. I've already got my speech planned. "I'd like to thank the Academy..." OH and I cannot tell you how glad I am that "The King's Speech" won Best Picture. I actually did a happy dance and then grabbed my phone and Tweeted about it. So bloody excited.
I have to admit that the reason this post is abnormally late is because I had to work today. Obviously the mall does not respect the holiday, whatever. On my lunch break I got on my phone and started to watch a live feed. Mila Kunis' dress was the second dress I saw this afternoon and has been my favorite ever since. I adore her Elie Saab gown. Honestly, I love it. The color not only looks smashing on her, but the dress itself looks as if it was made for her body. She looks fantastic. I'm in love.Hailee Steinfeld is ADORABLE. She looks like a princess/ballerina in this Marchesa dress, which by the way, I heard she helped design. The only thing I don't like about this look is the headband. It was kind of unnecessary, but oh well.Camila Alves, also known as Matthew McConaughey's baby mama, was my second pick for best dressed. She looked stunning in this Kaufman Franco gown. I mean, she didn't even need to be there, but she was and she made sure everyone noticed. Incredible. I even love her slicked back hair. Madness, no?!
While I'd like to think that Reese Witherspoon can do no wrong, she proved me wrong. I really don't like anything about her look. I don't like her dress and I really don't like her hair. It's all really unfortunate.
You know, I don't hate Florence Welch's Valentino dress as much as I originally thought I did. Granted, I don't love it and I kind of think it looks like an elderly woman's nightgown, but it's not awful. I mean, she could've done a lot worse and you know it.
I have a problem with Sandra Bullock's look for a couple reasons. 1. Her Vera Wang gown is a weird shade of red. Not bad weird, but weird weird. Like, it's not pleasing to my eyes. 2. Her red lipstick? No. 3. Her makeup in general, it's lacking something. 4. Her hair is lacking something too. But if we're being completely honest, she looked stunning last year, so I guess it's difficult to look stunning both years, but a little effort would've been nice. And yes, I know she has a son this time around, but still. Priorities, people! (Reason #311342 as to why I don't have a child yet. Oscars > Adopted son)
To everyone except my cousins, sister and best friend, it is a little known fact that I completely adore Celine Dion. She can do no wrong in my eyes. She's a diva and I love her. I do not, however, love her dress. It is very boring and bland. I mean, she looks great in it, but it would not be my first, second, third or fourth choice.
Oh sweet goodness. Did you guys watch Jennifer Hudson present tonight? This dress looked even WORSE on TV. I mean, Sarah and I actually cringed. Not only was the dress ill fitting, but the orange was not flattering at all! And she needs to fire her makeup person. Her face color did not match the rest of her body, chest, arms, etc. And this dress makes her boobs look weird.
As crazy as Helena Bonham Carter is, I can't help but love her. If I could trade Moms for a day, she would be my second choice. My first choice would've been Natasha Richardson, but that is no longer possible :( R.I.P. Anyway, while I kind of hate this outfit, partially because there is indeed velvet involved, I have seen worse. Much, much worse. I am also really bummed she didn't win Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She did a wonderful job in that movie. Can you tell I loved "The King's Speech?" I'm kind of obsessed. Oh, and did I mention that she had a British flag tied on her right calf? Oh yes, only HBC, my friends. Only HBC.
Ah! It's Ke$ha 2.0! Just kidding, it's Jennifer Lawrence. I heard that she was the first nominee to arrive to the event, which I think is funny. While her Calvin Klein dress is nothing special, she is working it like no other. I mean, she looks FIERCE. This is my favorite look from her.
Oh no. I really hate the Calvin Klein gown Gwyneth Paltrow wore tonight. It is all kinds of fugly. At least she sounded amazing when she performed her song from "Country Strong." She also looked amazing, but more on performance dresses later.
Ugh, just when I thought Nicole Kidman was stepping up her game or whatever, she shows up in this Christian Dior dress. I mean, it just doesn't sit right on her. I don't like it, I don't like it one bit.
Oh Melissa Leo, I don't know what to do with you. Your dress, I like. You restored what little faith I had left in you. Your acceptance speech, on the other hand, was a steaming hot mess. I mean, I don't even know...
I want to like Amy Adams' L'Wren Scott gown, I do. I really, really do. But I don't. The necklace and the bracelet are both distracting and I don't like the sleeves OR the neckline. The dress looks amazing on her figure though, but the dress itself is kind of just there. I would be drooling over it if it had been a strapless dress though because I love the fabric and the color.
Anne Hathaway, sweet Anne Hathaway. This Valentino gown is just one of the many gowns she changed into throughout the night. While this one is nice and all, I don't really like the bottom. It reminds me of a comforter, yes?
Okay, I actually REALLY like Givenchy dress Cate Blanchett wore tonight. I like everything except for the sleeves. They're really weird and don't flow with the dress or design. But despite the sleeves, I actually really love this.
I don't know why Halle Berry was there, but I am glad she was because I love this Marchesa gown. I mean, I've never met a Marchesa garment I didn't love, but still. She looks great and isn't trying too hard which I appreciate because for whatever reason, she's been showing her goodies all over town and I mean, she already got knocked up once by a handsome model stranger, do you really want to go down that path again?...
While I do love Hilary Swank's dress, she's not carrying herself well in it. She's kind of slumped over, I mean I'm not one to talk as I am slumped here in my chair, but I'm not on the red carpet in a Gucci gown either. I love the dress though, I really do. Feathers and sequins and strapless? Obsessed.
I LOVE COLIN FIRTH. I do, I love him so incredibly much. And can we just talk about how cute his acceptance speech was? It. Melted. My. Heart. He melts my heart. Anyway, I'm not here to talk about him (for now). I'm here to talk about his gorgeous wife, Livia Giuggioli. I hate that I don't exactly hate her gown. I mean, yes, everytime I saw it I exclaimed "But she looks like a bird!" but I don't hate it. I guess I just love her husband so much that I don't even care.
I think Mandy Moore may or may not be one of the cutest celebrities out there right now. With the exception of Hailee Steinfeld, of course. She's adorable. And speaking of which, I kind of love her Monique Lhuillier gown. It's so light, fresh and girly. I want to wear it, please!
I really don't like Michelle Williams' Chanel dress. I know, shocking, right?! It's just kind of hanging out. It doesn't know what to do. The main thing I don't like is the fact that this is a mix of every dress she has worn within the past 5 months. You know? I saw it and I was like "I've seen that before..." Turns out I haven't, but still. It's boring.
Oh, Natalie Portman. Here's the thing about her Rodarte dress. Let me just start off by saying that this is HER color. No doubt about it. She looks amazing. But I don't like the bottom of the dress. I wish it just went straight down instead of being fringy and uneven. I also don't like her shoes and I don't generally like dresses that show off shoes, especially ugly shoes. And I don't like her tassel earrings. I'm not a fan of matchy-matchy and this had way too much. But back to the color, she needs to wear this everyday of her life.
Penelope Cruz looked great in this L'Wren Scott gown. The color looks magnificent on her and the fact that she just had a child is sickening because she looks wonderful. Jealous.Alright. Here's the thing about Scarlett Johansson's Dolce & Gabbana dress. I hate it. The color looks great as does her cute hair, but the detailing is a little bit confusing. It's too much for such a small dress. I just don't like it, okay?
