"I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be pretty for destiny."
Leona Lewis was spotted wearing this little guy out and about London yesterday. Do people not realize that white bra + black shirt = fashion citation? And to top that off, she recently told UK's OK Magazine "I've always wanted to have my own fashion line, and that's something I want to focus on next year. I'm on a mission. I'd love to promote a line of non-leather handbags and shoes that are affordable." Okay, I can deal with shoes and bags as long as she doesn't start designing shirts and dresses...
I love me someLady Gaga. Look at just how fierce she is...
I love the top of what I can only imagine is a teeny tiny leotard. I love her, she's just sitting there, signing autographs, looking cool. (Sidenote: Did you know that on the day of the release of her new album "The Fame Monster," she purchased over $1,000 worth of pizza for her fans at the album signing? Uh, yeah, she just gets better and better, huh?)
Love it. I want to go to her concert. I guess I'll just have to keep looking at pictures of her amazing outfits and listening to her new album. Seriously, pick it up. I'll iTunes link it for you and everything. (You're welcome in advance).
Remember when I told you that velvet was making a comeback? You do? Great. Well, I am sad to report that it has officially comeback. As much as I absolutely despise everything velvet, I definitely purchased a velvet belt at Urban Outfitters on Friday. I couldn't help it, it's just so dang cute. And I mean, I'll just have someone else put it on me, that way I won't have to touch it and I'll still look cute. Compromise!
Today I gave into the madness that is Black Friday. I am oh, so, very against this day, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right? Right. Mother, Sister and I headed to Fashion Island today and before making a stop at Urban Outfitters, we stopped at BCBG to look at Winter Formal dresses for my sister. (Sidenote: Yes, we know that Winter Formal is in February, but we couldn't help ourselves). I ran around the store like a mad woman grabbing half of the dresses in the store, giving them to my sister and then shoving her in a dressing room to have her try them on. (Personal shopping = My favorite game). My favorite dress of the day was this GORGEOUS one-shoulder crinkle chiffon gown. I died when my sister walked out of the dressing room. Then I snapped some pictures with my phone. I couldn't help myself, I was so proud. :)
Ah! There she is, it melts my heart. She didn't get it though, unfortunately. But I mean, if you want to donate $498.00 to the "Buy Lauren The Dress of her Dreams" foundation, then feel free to do with that what you will, but for the meantime, all we have are the memories and this picture. Aw, presh. (P.S. Click on the BCBG link to see the official page for the dress).
Taylor Swift was running around London yesterday in this little outfit. I don't like it at all. It looks like she just threw on whatever she could find in her suitcase. Tsk tsk, Tay Tay. I feel like half of this outfit would look cute separate though.
Mm more award shows, more celebrities, more fabulous and fug. Shall we?
Okay, I love Selena Gomez. I love her. I mean, her style is so sophisticated and yet so fun at the same time. I want to go shopping with her.
Oh, Demi Lovato. I love her too. I really love this dress as well. I mean, it makes her look even more pale, but she is a beautiful pale. It's very flattering as well.
This totally reminds me of those paper snowflakes we used to make in elementary school. Love it. But honestly, only Rihanna could pull this off. If I wore this, I would actually look like a paper snowflake and that would be bad.
Oddly enough, I actually like Leona Lewis' outfit. I don't like her shoes so much though, they look like black socks, but her dress reminds me of Cat Woman, so that's fun.
Uh oh, Kelly Clarkson. What are you wearing? No no no no no.
I. LOVE. This. Paula Abdul, you are so weird, but for once, I adore your clothes. Honestly, this is gorgeous. I am a sucker for strapless, dark dresses.
Oh, Fergie. Hells to the no. C'mon now. Her Mariah Carey slit is not cutting it for me.
Aw. Carrie Underwood is presh. That's all I have to say.
I don't really like this. Sorry, Alicia Keys.
So, in conclusion, Paula Abdul, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are fabulous (and my favorites) and Fergie Ferg and Kelly Clarkson are on my fugly list.
Oh, no. Velvet is making a comeback. This hurts me. Touching velvet is like hearing nails on a chalkboard to me. It's awful. Apparently indigo and purple are the new "it" colors, but that I can deal with. And, as an added bonus, this is all according to Glamour Magazine UK, so we are just ahead of ourselves, now aren't we? You're welcome.
Mm I love award shows, I love red carpets, I love celebrities and I love fashion. Therefore, I am loving the CMAs right now.
Oh, Taylor Swift. One more reason to love you. Honestly. My sister just told me that this was one of the dresses she wore on SNL last week which is kind of a bummer. I mean, outfit repeater, much? By the way, if you haven't seen her SNL skits, do it. Do it now. Whatever, I still think this dress resembles a Disney princess' dress. I love it. Love love love it.
Michelle Branch! Remember her? I really like her dress actually, I would definitely wear that, please and thank you.
Oh, Martina McBride, you are beautiful, but this is one of the most unflattering dresses I have seen in quite some time. Honestly, I can't think of a single woman on Earth who wants to accentuate her hips.
First off, I want to say that I like Kellie Pickler's new hair color. I do not, however, like her dress. That's cute that she decided to show up as a Chipotle burrito. Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a darker sheet of aluminum foil? I think that it has the potential to be cute if it was in white or cream.
Okay, I LOVE this dress. I would wear this dress right now. Well, not right now. I'd have to stop eating bagels and run to the gym right now, but I mean, if I had her body, I would wear it right now. I've never listened to your music, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, but I love your dress.
I look at Carrie Underwood's dress and see a kaleidoscope. Mm, I don't think I like it so much.
Okay, don't get me wrong, I love my moccasins. I really do, but I prefer to wear them with a white Hanes v-neck and my skinny jeans, NOT a sun dress. An effing sundress and moccasins. Really, Girl in my American Government class? I mean, I guess some people could pull that off, but not her. And it's an ugly sundress too. And to top it all off she has paired her navy blue sundress with a dark green backpack and crazy hair. It's called a brush GIMAGC (Girl in my American Government class, GIMAGC will be her nickname from now on). People never cease to amaze me. Change your shoes, brush your hair, lose the backpack and throw that dress away. Remember, I do this because I care. Well, and because she is sitting in front of me and I can't not look. Mm, now back to learning about... uh, something involving the American government ;)
Next on my list: Find out why the Guy Who Thinks He Knows Everything (GWTHKE) always wears ugly hats. I'm sure with a haircut his hair would look fine... American Government can be so dang interesting sometimes.
So, here's the thing, a few weeks ago I bought the cutest cowl scarf from Gap. It was only $20 and it was practically screaming "Buy me, Erin! Buy me!" and I mean, I can't ignore clothes when they speak to me, that's rude, so I gave in. But there is one tiny problem, it seems to collect my food. I mean, I'm not a messy eater or anything, but it just holds the crumbs and saves them for later. It is really annoying actually, I'll stand up and adjust the little devil and crumbs just fall out of it. If I didn't love it so much, I would be tempted to take it back or something. But then I look at it and I am reminded of how cute and comfortable it is, so I forgive it. Stupid scarf.
Just striking a pose with my new friend. Cute, right?
No. No. No. No. Fergie, I want to give you some good news this week, but unfortunately on top of the whole "Josh is cheating on Fergie" scandal, you still manage to wear HIDEOUS outfits. Sweet Lord, it looks like a gray trash bag with a belt. Ugh.
Remember that one time I Tweeted that Taylor Swift could do no wrong? Yeah, well, on top of how great she was on SNL last night, this little outfit makes my heart so jealous. And those shoes. Holy heck yes!
So, on Wednesday night, Chanel threw their Fall Gala, The Chanel "Fete D'Hiver" Fall Gala, and I have to say that I really, really love all of the red carpet outfits. Yes ma'am, I do.
Diane Kruger just dazzles in this Chanel number courtesy of the Chanel Fall 2009 Couture collection. Gah! I adore it.
Blake Lively continues to make my fashion heart happy - as always - in her little Chanel Resort 2010 number. This is such a classic Chanel dress, I love it. Honestly, I cannot get over how cute her outfits have been recently.
Can I just be honest for a sec? I don't know who Leigh Lezark is. I don't know if I'm supposed to know who she is or if I'm allowed to be clueless, but regardless, I love her dress from Chanel's Paris-Monte Carlo Pre-Fall 2007 collection. I would wear this. You hear that, Karl? Feel free to send me ANY Chanel dresses you want. ;)
It's cute that Mariah Carey thinks this looks good. Honestly, put clothes on, woman.
It's cute that my boyfriend is well, cute. Just look at him for a second. My infatuation has died down a little bit, but when I see something like this, I can't help but share it. It's also cute that he's shopping at Gianfranco Ferré in Milan.
It's also cute that my blog has been viewed approximately 160 times. Thanks guys, you make my heart smile :)
So, my dearest friend Tali goes to school in Chicago and let me just tell you that she is stuck with some of the most hideously dressed people in all of the United States. Honestly. I get daily picture messages and I adore all of them dearly. I adore them so much that I am giving her her own corner. You'll see, in due time, it's just THAT bad. Example #1:
FWD: Peach colored shorts, sandals, a yellow long sleeve shirt with a hot pink tank top over it, then that hideous brown flowy shirt. Oh,and don't forget the mustard yellow floppy hat on her head. So cute, right? NO. (Via Text Message)
If that's not bad enough, I was blessed with a picture. Whoop whoop!
I know that silver nail polish is the "it" color right now, but I just don't like it. I mean, I always have nail polish on, OPI's "Siberian Nights" is my color of choice, but silver? No. Silver makes me think of tin. Tin makes me think of a tin man. When I think tin man I think of "The Wizard of Oz" and I hate that movie. I hate it so so much. Silver nail polish = "The Wizard of Oz." Icky.
I love British magazines. They are one of the many reasons I want to move to London. I just bought my Cosmopolitan UK and I have been checking Border's since Monday for Glamour UK. Leighton Meester's on it this month. I HAVE to have it! Border's sucks sometimes. I need my monthly dose of all things British. I really wish that I could subscribe to this magazine, but unfortunately Euros convert hideously. $60+? No thank you.
We all know that I love Gossip Girland we are all aware of how badly I want to be either Leighton Meester or Blake Lively. Sometimes both. At the same time. Wow, can you imagine how fierce and beautiful I would be? Anyways, Blake graces the cover of December's Marie Claireissue and I just love with is going on. I love her bikini tops, cute little jackets and adorable sweater. Gosh, some people just have it all, don't they?
